Why I Offer Super 8 Alongside Photography

Photography has always been about freezing moments in time. A glance, a touch, the way light falls for just a second and then disappears. Over the years, I realized that while photos preserve how a wedding looked, there were parts of the day I wanted to remember in motion—the way a dress swayed, laughter spilling out mid-moment, the energy that can’t be contained in a single frame.

That’s where Super 8 came in.

Super 8 doesn’t compete with photography—it complements it. While I photograph the defining moments, Super 8 quietly captures the in-between ones. The movement, the atmosphere, the fleeting pieces of the day that feel more like memories than moments you posed for.

Offering both allows me to tell a fuller story. I already know how the day unfolds, where emotion builds, and when something meaningful is about to happen. Shooting Super 8 alongside photography feels intuitive, not intrusive—an extension of the way I’ve always observed weddings.

Most importantly, Super 8 preserves weddings the way they’re remembered, not the way they’re staged. Together, photography and Super 8 create a balance: stillness and motion, clarity and nostalgia, documentation and emotion.

It’s not about adding more coverage. It’s about adding depth.
